The family unit is bombarded today by all of the allies of Satan. We as Latter-Day Saint women, know,
"The family is the most important organization in time or in eternity."President Joseph Fielding Smith also said,
"We should remember, as Latter-Day Saints, that outside of the celestial kingdom, there is no family organization [after death]. That organization is reserved for those who are willing to abide in every covenant and every obligation which we are called upon to receive while we sojourn here in mortal life."
As we search our roots for those ancestors who never received the gospel or temple covenants in their lives, so that we might bind them, through the sealing ordinances, into our celestial families. How much more important is it to teach and preserve the children that are born into our family unit?
We are told that the Church exists to strengthen and build the family. What tools and instructions have we been given by the church to preserve our families? How do we make time to implement these teachings? Does fun and joy enter the equation?
Think of the family you grew up in. Think of the family you are now creating or have created. Let's share ideas that have been successful -- because we all want to succeed!
Remember we have to do all we can (which will be determined by each of us individually with help from the Lord).
With Love,
Karen Bateman

I love Karen Bateman's lessons! I am especially excited about this one as I have always admired her as a mother in Israel.
