We had a wonderful Visiting Teaching Conference during Relief Society yesterday. Thanks so much to all those who participated and helped with this, especially to the Priesthood Brethren who took over Primary and Young Women's so that we could all be together.

Visiting Teaching Conference
Don't forget that this coming Sunday will be our Visiting Teaching Conference. All of the sisters in the ward will meet together during the third hour in the Institute Room. We are very thankful for the priesthood brethren who will be teaching the Primary and Young Women so we can all be together for this!

Visiting Teaching Reminder
Dear sisters,
With only 8 days remaining in September, I encourage you to please visit with the sisters assigned to you if you have not already done so. Let's get in touch, show love, service and concern, as we have been asked to do. What great opportunities we have to bless the lives of our sisters, thereby feeling a sweet spirit as we do so. Remember, please report to your VT supervisor promptly, and supervisors, I look forward to receiving your reports as soon after the first of the month as possible.
Thank you,
Sister Medaris

Visiting Teaching Thought
Dear Sisters,
Yes, it's about "back to school" time! As everyone's schedules are filling up, let's make it a priority to visit with the sisters in our districts. With all of the stress involved in the activities of this month, treat yourselves to a "break" and adjust your focus to include this vital act of ministry and love. We are promised that not only ourselves, but the sisters we visit, will be greatly blessed.

Extra Time
With our 3-hour block of meetings canceled this Sunday (due to the Multi-Stake Conference that starts at 10am), some of us might find ourselves with extra time on our hands this week. Maybe we don't have a lesson to prepare. Or maybe a presidency meeting was canceled. If you find yourself with extra time, how will you spend it? Reading the Scriptures? Going to the Temple? Visiting the sick and poor? Or watching TV, surfing the Internet, and taking a nap? I know I am sometimes guilty of wasting extra time. Yesterday I was thinking how great it would be for me to use this extra time Heavenly Father has given me to complete my visiting teaching this week. I want to say how much I love the Visiting Teaching program. I have had several experiences of women who have showed me how much they love me. It has given me the opportunity to make friends with sisters I might not have ever met. And I cherish the spiritual conversations I have with my visiting teachers and with the sisters I visit teach. I pray that we can all gain a testimony of visiting teaching. If you can remember a Sister who was a wonderful visiting teacher to you, then go out and do that for the women you teach. I testify that you will both be edified and come closer to the Lord as you fulfill your responsibility with sincere love and real friendship.

Visiting Teaching
As a follow up to Sister Bateman's lesson at the beginning of March, we wanted to encourage you to read (or re-read) the article in the March 2012 Ensign that gives more direction about how we can do visiting teaching.
"Our Heavenly Father needs us to follow a higher path and demonstrate our discipleship by sincerely caring for His children."
"Now visiting teachers have the opportunity to visit separately or together. They can count their “caring” whether or not they visit together and give the message. They can take appropriate action without being asked. They can actively seek, receive, and act on personal revelation to know how to respond to the spiritual and temporal needs of each sister they visit."

Visiting Teaching - the Temple!
One purpose of visiting teaching is to promote and share in the health and spiritual well-being of each sister in our Relief Society. What better way than to plan to go to the temple together (as VT companions or with those you visit teach) on June 8th! Let's make it our goal, if possible, to do all of our visiting teaching on June 8th IN THE TEMPLE.
** (Even if you have not had the priviledge of entering the temple - you can get a "limited use" recommend that allows you to do baptisms and confirmations in the temple baptistry on this day. Ask a member of the RS presidency or the Bishopbric about this.)

We "Pray" You Visit Teach in June!
Please remember to check your calendar for June and visit the sisters the Lord has put in your path! THEN, return and report it to your supervisor or any member of the RS Presidency. Thank you for all the wonderful acts of kindness shown to so many in our ward.
