Almost There!

Ladies - August, the last grand full month of summer and all that means to us, is almost here. We have one week left to enjoy strawberries and to do our visiting teaching for July. I think everyone needs a little "pick-me-up" in the middle of summer so be sure to try to visit your sisters as opposed to dropping them a note or calling them. Your cheery countenance and bright spirit might be just the thing to help them see life from a different perspective and feel more able to be the BEST they can be. Soon the leaves will be changing and life will take on a different pace - we're almost there!

Hello Jeanne. Hopefully the strawberries will last to October, at least in the stores. Thanks for the update message; sometimes it gets tiresome to open the blog and find the "same ole" messages. Why don't you ladies take a different week to post your messages? With these last 2 evenings of rain, I am anxious to get to Saturday for more concrete edge laying and plant the last Hosta in the new shade garden. Also hear from a coworker that this is the week to plant your fall garden of tomatoes, other veggies, and more cantaloupes. Maybe I can "get on track" with this planting since the spring one was 2 months late. Have a GREAT weekend. -- Holley Rock

I love your courage in planting a garden of ANY kind in Texas!

"Almost There" was the sign on the front of my car, the day I drove into Silver City to get married. Then after the deed was done, I turned it over to read "Just Married". A couple of folks out doing yard work noticed both the coming and going signs and smilingly waved us past the second time. Thanks for the fond memory. -- Holley Rock
