Gifts from the Heart

We're getting excited for our March 2nd RS Birthday party. And since it's a party, don't forget to bring your gift! We'll provide the dinner.

(See previous post about what kind of gifts to bring.)

This would be a great activity to bring a friend to. If she can't bring a gift though, you'll need to bring one for her. That way everyone will go home with something new!

And how are handing out gifts? We're having an auction! So come prepared to answer a small questionnaire that will give you points to use for bidding.

Here are some ideas on what you can do during the week leading up to March 2nd. These are surefire ways to earn yourself more points for the auction!
--Read scriptures daily
--Attend church
--Do an act of service
--Attend the temple
--Drive through a construction zone
--Have a baby!

RS Updates

Thanks to everyone who attended the Fireside last Sunday. Sister Chaillet did an excellent job on helping us learn to communicate better. We also enjoyed the two skits by the Bro & Sis Gaines and Bro & Sis Hayes.

This Sunday, Feb 21: Ward Conference, regular meeting schedule (11-2)
March 2: RS Birthday Party "Gifts from the Heart" at the Church, 7:00pm--Remember to choose the right so you can earn points when bidding. We'll be asking about what gift you'll be bringing so start thinking!
March 6: Stake Relief Society Women's Conference, 8:00am to 1:00pm
(No mtg for the Book Interest Group that first week of March--we'll wait til April.)

Dover Taks Snacks Update

Thanks to all who have contributed Taks Snacks for Dover Elementary.  The students start taking Taks on March 3rd.  Please bring your contributions to Relief Society on Sunday and Jennifer Gaines will deliver them to Dover.  We will continue to keep you posted on where we are and what is needed to reach our goal.

It's a birthday party for the Relief Society!

You're job: bring a "gift from the heart" to be auctioned off. We want these gifts to be something from your heart. Maybe you're good at sewing or baking? Or maybe you're a crafty person. Be creative because you'll receive extra points for how creative your gift is!

Each sister will have points to use to bid on the auctioned "gifts". (We'll tell you next week how you can earn points.)

This week we're giving you ideas for gifts to bring:
Loaves of bread
Cheesecake
Dinner for 4 or 6, ready to be reheated
A holiday craft
A piece of needlework you have done
A copy of two of your favorite paperback books
Brownies, peanut brittle, toffee
A cake, pie, cobbler, trifle, batch of cupcakes
Family Home Evening Kits with lessons, visuals, & treats
The makings for a family movie night: $ to rent a movie, popcorn, etc
Homemade quilts, burp clothes, tote bags, etc
Or you could even re-gift something new you have that you've never used
Homemade jewelry
A painting you've done
A kit for banana splits: bananas, toppings, money for ice cream
Tie a fleece blanket
Homemade Birthday/Thank You cards

Sister Missionaries need 3 volunteers

The sister missionaries in our area need 3 people (men or women) to help them with a training meeting they are doing on February 17 (Wednesday) from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM. The meeting will be at the Meandering Way church building. Volunteers will be given their assignment when they arrive. No advance preparation is required of the volunteers.
