"Faith & Keys"

Sisters,

This coming Sunday we will be having a combined Priesthood/Relief Society meeting during the 3rd hour. We will meet in the institute room.

Our lesson this Sunday will be from President Eyring's October 2004 Conference Address, "Faith and Keys."

After reading this talk, please take time to ponder these thoughts:

"To keep ourselves grounded in the Lord’s Church, we can and must train our eyes to recognize the power of the Lord in the service of those He has called. We must be worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost. And we need to pray for the Holy Ghost to help us know that men who lead us hold this power."

" ...just as in the time of Paul, the power of those priesthood keys for us requires our faith. We have to know by inspiration that the priesthood keys are held by those who lead and serve us. That requires the witness of the Spirit."

Why is it important for us to know that our leaders hold priesthood keys? How does this keep us "grounded in the Lord's Church?"

I look forward to discussing this important topic with you on Sunday.

"Faith Is Not by Chance, but by Choice"

Dear Sisters,

This Sunday we have the privilege of discussing the talk "Faith Is Not by Chance, but by Choice", by Elder Neil L. Andersen. The question that first caught my attention was, "How does the Savior see my faith?". I have been thinking about that question all month. It has led me to other questions, such as : "What is faith?" " What increases faith?" "How can I be relentless in protecting my faith?" Elder Andersen states that "Faith in Jesus Christ is a gift from heaven that comes as we choose to believe and as we seek it and hold on to it." I look forward to discussing this great gift of faith, which is so fundamental to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I see so many of you demonstrate great faith in the Lord Jesus Christ-you are an example to me!
